Homeward Bound
I’m sitting in the railway station.
Got a ticket to my destination.
On a tour of one-night stands my suitcase and guitar in hand.
And ev’ry stop is neatly planned for a poet and a one-man band.
Homeward bound,
I wish I was,
Homeward bound,
Home where my thought’s escaping,
Home where my music’s playing,
Home where my love lies waiting
Silently for me.
Ev’ry day’s an endless stream
Of cigarettes and magazines.
And each town looks the same to me, the movies and the factories
And ev’ry stranger’s face I see reminds me that I long to be,
Homeward bound,
I wish I was,
Homeward bound,
Home where my thought’s escaping,
Home where my music’s playing,
Home where my love lies waiting
Silently for me.
Tonight I’ll sing my songs again,
I’ll play the game and pretend.
But all my words come back to me in shades of mediocrity
Like emptiness in harmony I need someone to comfort me.
Homeward bound,
I wish I was,
Homeward bound,
Home where my thought’s escaping,
Home where my music’s playing,
Home where my love lies waiting
Silently for me.
Silently for me.

Here I am. Home at last. I've been to london and paris and back. London was amazing because it seemed as if every time I turned a corner I was faced with another castle. lovely. I also got to go inside the Lloyd Building in london which is one of the places where Carmel works, and that building was amazing. It reminded me of a giant cappuccino machine. hehe All of the things that should be on the inside of the building, like elevators, heat ducts and tubing were on the outside of the building to make room on the inside. And since the elevators ARE on the outside they are completely glass, which made for a very Charlie and the Chocolate factory experience. "It can go sideways backways foreways diagonal and just about any other direction you can think of" Very kool. And paris was very pretty. Although they are on the same side of the street as we are, they have a street system in paris that I never quite felt comfortable with.
Well there is a lot to say about my trip, but they'll either come out over time or in conversation. Pictures will be developed soon too.
But right now I just want everyone to know that I'm glad to be home and that I've missed everyone very much. =-)
